Doncel is an NGO whose objective is to help minors who live in homes without parental care, and when they turn 18, they can be left on the street, without work and without education. Since 2004 it has sought to improve the transition of these young people to their adult life, so that they can access their rights to obtain housing, work and education. In Argentina there are about 10,000 girls, boys and adolescents living in formal care facilities, separated from their families. I am very grateful that they have invited me to participate in the virtual gallery #dibujosquehablan, with colleagues such as Isol Misenta, Miguel Rep, Caro Altavilla, Laila Ekboir, among many others.
My inspiration was this feeling that kids face many challenges at a very young age. With little time and resources, they must make a transition from adolescents to adults: find a house, work, study, subsist. I wanted to highlight the enormous effort to adapt to a new reality, and how overwhelming it can be without help or guidance.

Doncel es una ONG cuyo objetivo es ayudar a los chicxs menores de edad que viven en hogares sin cuidados parentales, y que al cumplir 18 años, pueden quedar en la calle, sin trabajo y sin educación. Desde 2004 busca mejorar la transición de estos jóvenes a su vida adulta, para que puedan acceder a sus derechos de obtener una vivienda, trabajo y educación. En Argentina hay cerca de 10.000 niñas, niños y adolescentes que viven dispositivos de cuidado formal, separados de sus familias. Estoy muy agradecida de que me hayan invitado a participar de la galería virtual #dibujosquehablan, con colegas como Isol Misenta, Miguel Rep, Caro Altavilla, Laila Ekboir, entre muchos otros.
Mi inspiración fue esta sensación de que los chicos se enfrentan a muchos desafíos siendo muy jóvenes. Con poco tiempo y recursos, deben hacer una transición de adolescentes a adultos: buscar casa, trabajo, estudiar, subsistir. Quise resaltar el esfuerzo enorme para adaptarse a una nueva realidad, y lo abrumador que puede ser sin ayuda ni guía.
