Wander Magazine is a magazine made by three very talented women, Suzette Moyer, Sara Quinn and Kris Viesselman, and I am very happy to have been called up for its second issue along with 33 other spectacular artists. The theme that inspired this issue is the dreams for 2021. Each one found their way of telling it, with their particular language and style.
After making several sketches, I went to sleep with the question of what are my wishes for 2021 in my head. The answer came in the dream, in a kind of creative fertility, a colorful pregnancy with watercolor stains. Here is Spring and everything is blooming, along with my hopes for a creative future for all.
I've been working around greek goddesses in a more feminist approach since last year, so it seemed right to invoke Aphrodite for this piece.
Wander Magazine es una revista hecha por tres talentosísimas mujeres, Suzette Moyer, Sara Quinn and Kris Viesselman, y estoy muy contenta de haber sido convocada para su segundo número junto con otras 33 artistas espectaculares. El tema que inspiró este número son los sueños para 2021. Cada una encontró su forma de contarlo, con su lenguaje y estilo particular.
Después de hacer varios bocetos, me fui a dormir con la pregunta de cuáles son mis deseos para el 2021 en mi cabeza. La respuesta llegó en el sueño, en una especie de fertilidad creativa, un embarazo colorido con manchas de acuarela. Aquí está la primavera y todo está floreciendo, junto con mis esperanzas de un futuro creativo para todos. He estado trabajando con diosas griegas con un enfoque más feminista desde el año pasado, por lo que me pareció correcto invocar a Afrodita para esta pieza
